up to the minute

The girls likes to draw people right now - i get a slew of pictures drawn of me holding Marie.  She also likes to make 'babies' out of things - pom poms, tissue, little rocks.  This week I was the recipient of a big pom-pom person holding a tiny pom-pom person.  I was also the recipient of a wonderful picture  of five people, labeled 'MoM, DaD, Maddy, W, and Mre' - so awesome!

The boy likes to be very active, and also to do as many things as he can that his sister does.  Tonight we were reading an alphabet book 'D is for Dog', and he pointed to the D and said 'is for Dad'.  I am led to understand that he also identified a play-doh squid for Rachel yesterday (perhaps saying as much for her play-doh prowess).

The littlest continues to develop her prowess in sucking.  Today i swear that she was holding her pacifier in with her hand.  Eventually it fell out and she moved right on into exploring different fingers.  This never fails to astound me, as she is the first of our kids to actually seek out this little milestone.

The dog and i need to get running more often.  His weekend is off to a good start, with new beds to lounge on, but i look forward to taking him out and around.  He appears to recognize that putting on a baby carrier == walk.

  1. gosh, not even gone a week and so much is happening! we'd love to see the picture Madeleine drew with everyone's names (and you should say what a great and helpful big sister she is) and... does it suffice to say how much we miss you all, and how grateful we are for the time we had, the adventures and seeing so many friends? THANK YOU!!!
